How to plan urban green space in cold regions of China to achieve the best cooling efficiency

With the acceleration of urbanization, urban heat island (UHI) effect has intensified. Urban green space can retard UHI effect. However, most existing studies have only focused on hot regions, while little attention been given to cold regions that also summer protection requirements. Furthermore, researc not classified spaces according presence or absence water, which lead inaccurate results. This paper takes four cities in China as examples and cooling effects two different types space. The results indicate China, containing water bodies a stronger than those without water. For intensity is related background temperature areas, for bodies, area internal body key influencing factor. Specifically, there threshold value efficiency (TVoE) areas region approximately 0.52 ha, no TVoE bodies. Additionally, water/land ratio 0.5. methods this study provide reference future research planners managers designing spaces.
